Ah, the T word. The T word is the word that makes some people tremble in their shoes, and the word that makes others' lives merry:
Technology.
"Current and Emerging Technology" is the name and the game of this course, and the future of the educational system. Technology can be the make-or-break point for students who require special needs, or for teachers who love the paper and pencil method. In reality, technology is not so reliable or not always the friendliest to work with, however its use in the classroom is almost inevitable, whether it be in the form of cellphones, laptops, hearing aids and FM systems, microphones and speakers, SMART boards, projectors, Apple TV, iPads and/or iPods, to name a few. I have been sent here to blog about my learnings on technology use in the classroom, the pros and cons to technology use in an educational setting, and digital resources that are student (and teacher!) friendly. Please, join me for the next four months to discover technology alongside me and, hopefully, fear the T word a little less.
